Project requirements

The brief from the client for both permanent structures and extensions to existing buildings was focussed on ensuring the safety of the general public during construction works, while offering a pleasant and clean aesthetic.

The first hoarding system installed was at the Metro Centre, Gateshead, where Isoclad’s fire and sound rated panel system was installed overnight.

As this was the first installation of its kind, the main contractor was slightly sceptical that this could be achieved overnight in a six-hour installation window including:

  • Delivery of materials to site
  • Installation of the panel system while working around other trades
  • Logistics associated with first-floor installation
  • Full fitting of doors, ancillaries and flashings
  • Cleaning of the hoarding prior to graphics being applied
  • Return of site to excellent order before centre opening

Application

The main contractor was overwhelmed at not only the speed of the installation but with the finish of the retail hoarding panel system compared to traditional timber studding and plywood sheeting.

They were able to rely heavily on the extensive experience Isoclad has of the hoarding construction sector to provide them with an accurate and up-to-date system.

The Isoclad panel system is the perfect solution for environments where the safety of the general public is paramount while the new works are carried out inside retail stores.

These retail hoarding projects ranged between 100m2 and 2400m2 and were installed by an approved contracting team.
