Cold store panels for a leading UK food processing facility
- Thermocore 40

About the project
A leading UK ice cream manufacturer required a reliable insulated panel system for a large temperature-controlled storage facility in North Yorkshire. The project included a chill area and three freezer rooms across four floors, with temperatures ranging from -50°C to 5°C and external conditions varying throughout the year.
Project needs
The client needed a cold store specification that could maintain stable temperatures, prevent condensation, and deliver long term thermal performance. The system had to be structurally sound, compatible with specialist cold store doors and capable of supporting a clean, hygienic finish suitable for food production environments.
Our solution
Isoclad supplied Thermocore PIR cold store panels, drawing on extensive experience in freezer and cold storage construction. The system delivered:
- A secure and structurally sound external enclosure
- Reliable thermal control to maintain constant room temperatures
- A specification designed to eliminate condensation and prevent core freeze-up
- White dust free laminate for a clean, hygienic finish
Isoclad worked closely with a specialist door manufacturer to ensure all doors matched the exact site dimensions and were supplied with correct fittings for seamless integration.
Outcome
The Thermocore installation provided a high performing, energy efficient and hygienic cold store environment suitable for large scale ice cream production. The system maintained consistent temperatures across all rooms, supported operational efficiency and delivered a durable finish that will continue to perform over time.
